Default New player campaign question

Hello

apologies in advance if I am not using the correct terminology.

Would anyone like to suggest what campaigns I do after Prophecies and in what order?

I have bought the trilogy: Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall. I also plan on getting Eye of the North.

I want to learn the game in a leisurely fashion with a focus on PvE.

Although I am usually a min-maxer I want to take a slow run through the game first time around.

I had read on the forum here that Prophecies has a slower learning curve than the other campaigns and that suits me as I would like to take a steady, if somewhat slower, path through the game.

Currently I am going to each area as I run through the Prophecies main storyline and doing all the quests and sidequests, speaking to all the NPCs, finding out how my class (Necromancer) works, using the wiki, doing a bit of exploring and so on.

I prefer to play casters so I intend to stay with my Necromancer for a while. Although depending on how long I stay with GW I plan on trying some of the other caster classes as well.

FWIW I'm currently level 19 in Amnoon Oasis which is about halfway through the main campaign in Prophecies I believe.

I would appreciate any suggestions on what campaigns to do after Prophecies.

Thanks

Well, since you've already played some and will have had time to accumulate gold, I'd suggest you do Nightfall after Prophecies. This will allow you to get some Heroes (customizable henchmen) which are very helpful. To properly use Heroes, you need to equip them with Runes, Insignias, weapons, and skills - thus the need for gold.

I agree with doing Nightfall next. I did Proph first then Nightfall and I didn't have too much trouble. It's frustrating at times but with help from the wiki and folks here I was able to finish it all with just heroes/henchmen.

Good luck in the desert. That was the hardest part for me, but once you ascend it's fun again.

I had no choice but to do Prophecies first since that was the only chapter available. Give what you are looking for, Prophecies will set you up with a lot of excellent experience. Next, Nightfall yes.

Prophecies is unforgettable. So many wonderful memories there. Fortunately, Nightfall is a worthy step onward that you will enjoy all the more for having played Prophecies.

So few know how to play the game for its most important reward. Fun! You are a very intelligent gamer.

If you want to avoid minor story spoilers, then do Factions after Prophecies. You can still drop by Kamadan long enough to pick up heroes without spoiling anything, then go back to Factions. If you don't care about minor spoilers, then you might as well finish Nightfall after Prophecies.
